Play-off Season Ends as Wolverines Claim Bronze
The seventh and final week of DJHL play-offs wrapped up on Sunday night in fine style as the RBC Wolverines nipped the RBC Falcons to claim the Peewee A Division bronze medal. Wolverines dominated play in the opening frame before the Falcons rallied back in the second period to make it anybody’s game. Both Mitchell Baker for the Wolverines and Connor Roche for the Falcons stood tall in their nets to keep the game scoreless until the third period. The game winner came from Logan Noseworthy as he put the Wolverines ahead 1-0 on a slick passing play with Mark Corbett early in the third period. Wolverines kept the momentum going until Falcons mounted a strong counterattack later in the period, but Baker was unbeatable. It was a well-played game by both sides and a great finish to a long season! On behalf of the DJHL, thank you to all players, team staff members, parents and fans for making the 2016-17 season a memorable one. tp
