Key League Information

With another season on the horizon, it’s time to post numerous pieces of key League information:
1) We encourage all parents and guardians to follow the League on Twitter at @djhlnews given that we often post important and timely news updates there;
2) Applications are now being accepted for Volunteer positions on our 16 pooled hockey teams at the A and AA levels in Peewee and Bantam. Anyone interested in being a Team Manager must also follow this process. Volunteer forms can be found in the Documents section on our League Info page. All applications have to be endorsed by one’s Home Association. The deadline for applying is September 15th;
3) The AP program is modified this year with the introduction of Bantam and Peewee AA Divisions. Each AA team will have an affiliated A team from which to draw any of the players for call-up and practice purposes. A teams will still follow the existing program for drafted players from the B Divisions;
4) Association-based teams in Atom C & D, Peewee C, and Bantam C are joining our League for the first time. Our various member Minor Hockey Associations are responsible for the selection and operation of these teams;
5) Revamped League Governance document that covers all DJHL policies, rules and regulations can now be found for download on our League info page;
6) On-line registration ends August 31st for players interested in trying out for a roster spot on one of our 16 pooled teams across Peewee A & AA, and Bantam A & AA. Any players with either the fee not paid or the on-line form not completed will not appear on a try-out roster group when posted in early September;
7) Details on the Bantam Body Checking Camp will be posted by August 31st. The camp will provide each player with 3 hours of on-ice instruction and one hour of off-ice instruction for a fee of $60 and will run during the week beginning September 9th.; and
8) See Team Standings on our web site for how our pooled divisions will be aligned with the introduction of the BNS Lynx, BNS Privateers, BNS Ravens, and BNS Spartans. Big thanks to Scotiabank for providing new uniforms for our four new teams!
