Rebates to Players in Pooled Program

Rebates to Players in Pooled Program

With the abrupt end to the 2019-2020 DJHL Season, the Executive of the DJHL recognizes that a complete program offering was not provided to players on our 16 pooled teams for which the League collects full player registration. Therefore, 272 full-time players on our pooled teams in Peewee A, Peewee AA, Bantam A, and Bantam AA will receive a rebate credit or payment of $250 each.

This player rebate may be considered high at first glance, but unique to our pooled program registration fee is the cost to cover our banquet and awards (approximately $7,500 unexpended), hosting four provincial tournaments (a budget of $24,000 not spent), and team expense allowances (balance of about $5,500 not spent). Once you add these balances to savings realized from basically a month\'s worth of ice time not getting used, the surplus quickly rises.

It is only prudent that the League limit the administrative burden of handling this number of rebates. Therefore, the process will go as follows: 1) Bantam Team Managers will each be issued a cheque to cover the collective amount owed to players on their team who are now graduated from the League (2005 year class); 2) Team Managers will electronically money transfer (EMT) $250 to each family contact of the graduating player based on the list provided them by the League;  3) all players born between 2006 and 2008 will have a $250 credit on their account towards registration and try-out fees for next season; 3) players born between 2006 and 2008 not availing of their full rebate fund at the start of next season, or opting to no longer participate in the League, will be issued a refund cheque.
