They like to refer to themselves as “The Ultimate Underdogs,” but in Week 4 DJHL Playoff action they proved themselves to be worthy opponents. The U11A CBR Renegades are our latest Sportscraft Playoff Team of the Week!

The U11A CBR Renegades have proven that resilience, teamwork, and trust in the process can turn even the toughest season around. They began this season at the bottom of the standings, suffering heavy losses and facing adversity week after week. But instead of giving up, they doubled down on their effort, stayed focused, and trusted their coaches. 

The Renegades finished the regular season with only 6 wins in 26 games and 28 points out of first place. But this team obviously put the tough regular season behind them heading into the playoffs. Their perseverance paid off in the quarterfinals when they faced the one of the division’s most consistent teams, the Northeast Eagles. The odds were stacked against them, but the Renegades refused to back down. After sharing wins and playing to an exciting 1-1 tie in Game 3, the stage was set for a rare and dramatic Game 4 in the First to 4 Points series. In Game 4 the Renegades showed incredible heart, pushing the game to the ultimate test of composure: an overtime shootout, where they sealed the 2-1 victory!

From struggling at the bottom to pulling off an underdog upset, the Renegades have shown what true dedication and the champion spirit looks like. Their story isn’t just about one win —it’s about proving that with hard work, belief, and teamwork, good things can happen.

The Scotiabank DJHL in partnership with Sportscraft is pleased to present the Sportscraft Team of the Week once again during our playoff season. We invite Team Managers to give us a short pitch as to why their team should be considered based on performance, sportsmanship and/or effort. Last year, teams that finished deep in the divisional standings but turned it around in the playoffs claimed the weekly title often. Always include a group photo with the nomination. The weekly deadline for submissions is Sunday night at 9pm and should be sent to djhl.director@gmail.com. Winning teams will receive prizes for all winning teammates compliments of Sportscraft.
