As the Scotiabank DJHL heads towards the play-off season, here are some important items:

• All 10 divisions of the League will start play-offs around the first week of March. The play-off season takes about six weeks to complete. Teams eliminated early are expected to pursue exhibition and tournament play to fill their schedules heading towards Easter Provincials.
• With the relegation of Southern Shore Breakers to U15B, the first criterion for deciding playoff seeding in U15A will be winning percentages. All games in U15A between SS Breakers and the other teams no longer count in the standings but they do not towards League’s commitment to give each team the same number of total games. In U15B, total points remain the first criterion for deciding seed placement for playoffs.
• All season the DJHL only awards a cap of +7 in games with a wide scoring margin. For example, a game reported as a 10-1 final would only be posted as 8-1 in the system for standings purposes.
• Team staff members and parents should review the League Rules, Playoff Tracker and League Operations Plan documents found on our League Info page for pertinent information.
• The Playoff Tracker is updated daily as seed placements become confirmed. Once playoffs begin, it is updated even more often.
• In the playoffs, highest ranked team always plays lowest ranked team and so on in any round.
• Bronze medal games happen in divisions with 4+ teams. These games will be a sudden victory affair (shoot-out after third period if required) and played at rink of higher ranked team.
• In each First to Four Points series, a Game 4 will be played if teams are tied at 3 points each after the end of Game 3.
• In each First to Four Points series, a shoot-out would happen in Game 4 if teams were tied in points at end of regulation time.
• In U15AA, all games tied at end of regulation go to a shoot-out (3 players per team).
• Final player registration fees for U15AA are due on February 1^st and can be paid through the HCR portal on the home page or by EMT to fees@gmail.com.
• League Banquet for U15AA and U13AAA Puffins is Saturday, April 19^th at Glendenning Golf Club in Southlands.
