6 Championship Series to Highlight Week 4
Championship series in six divisions will certainly be the highlight of Week 4 in DJHL Play-off action. With each series a best-of-five affair, as many as thirty games can be played in the Championship Round across all brackets. In all series, the opening two games will be played in Week 4. Club history can be made for the Paradise Warriors as both their Atom B and Peewee B squads race to claim the first League title ever for their new minor hockey organization. In their way will be the Northeast Eagles, who finished first in Peewee B on the strength of 16 wins and 5 ties, and the St. John’s Caps, who upset the first-place Mt. Pearl Blades to gain a berth in the Atom B final. A lot of red and white jerseys will be present in other series too as the St. John’s Caps battle the first-place Avalon Celtics in the Atom A Championship starting Tuesday at Bussey Horwood Arena and go against the Southern Shore Breakers in the Bantam A Championship on Wednesday at Twin Rinks. Our Peewee A Championship, featuring pooled players as part of our RBC Program, will see the Scorpions and Jackals dueling it out after sending the top-seeded Cobras and Wolverines to the Consolation Round. The top-seeded Crushers will have to fend off the stubborn fifth-seed Generals if they hope to win gold in the RBC-sponsored Bantam A division. It all begins tonight (Monday March 6th) as Caps and Warriors square off in Atom B at Paradise Arena at 7pm and Generals and Crushers play at Jack Byrne Arena at 6pm. Stay Calm and Cheer Them On! TP
